Our Gasthaus Antonia, located in the idyllic village of Au near Lofer and far away from crowded tourist hotspots, offers you a peaceful retreat surrounded by the majestic Loferer and Reither Steinberge mountains. Enjoy the fresh air of meadows and forests while hiking or cycling through the beautiful landscape. Right outside our doorstep, you’ll find hiking and biking trails inviting you to explore the stunning surroundings.
One of the absolute highlights of your holiday in Lofer is a sunrise hike on the Loferer Alm. In winter, you can enjoy perfectly groomed ski slopes on your ski holiday, peaceful walks through the snow, or unforgettable snowshoe hikes in the magical winter landscape.

Surrounded by the stunning Loferer and Reither Steinberge mountains, you’ll stay in our family-run guesthouse — an ideal starting point for mountain tours, hikes, and leisurely walks. Cycling enthusiasts will also find fantastic bike routes to explore.
Our offerings include 9 double rooms, 6 of which have been newly renovated in the guesthouse. Additionally, our 2 holiday apartments have been recently refurbished, one of which is wheelchair accessible. In our guesthouse, we also offer another holiday apartment and a family room.
A unique feature of our house is definitely the elevator, which allows guests with physical impairments to access our barrier-free apartment with ease. Additionally, our restaurant is accessible without steps. Sustainability is important to us — our eco-friendly heating system uses wood pellets, while our photovoltaic panels and solar collectors provide warm water efficiently.

About us
Family-Run Guesthouse Since 1959
Since 1959, Gasthaus Antonia has stood for genuine hospitality. Founded by Anton and Gertraud Schweinöster, it has remained in the hands of the same family ever since. In 1986, their son Toni and his wife Daniela took over the business, expanded the house with a new wing, and continuously modernized it – including a partial renovation in 2001 and the installation of an elevator for added comfort on all floors.
Since January 2023, their daughter Marina has been leading the guesthouse into the next generation. With fresh ideas, she has redesigned all rooms and the two holiday apartments, giving them a modern and contemporary feel.
Toni brings great passion to the kitchen, creating delicious culinary experiences, while Daniela is the heart of the house and provides dedicated support in the kitchen. Marina can be found throughout the property – in the restaurant, in the rooms, or at reception – personally taking care of the well-being of every guest.
